Open Play (Indoor)

Season of 2017 runs from September 16th through May 27.

In Open Play teams are formed by Court Managers from the pool of attendees (54 players max per session). Games are played on a men’s net (height 7 feet 11-5/8 inches).

Sunday teams are organized in the same manner with the difference of each session grouping individuals by skill level.

Each sessions last 2 hours, sign up cut off time is 20 mins before the session start time.

Rules & Expectations

 

SATURDAY | Open Play
Rating: No Minimum
This session will observe all USAV rules, including doubles, carry, lifts, line faults etc. Players benefit from having prior working knowledge of 5-1 and 6-2 formations since these sessions typically use a formation.

SUNDAY | AA
Rating: 90 or Higher / Yankee B- or Higher
This session will strictly observe all USAV rules, and is geared towards very advanced players. Currently, the first 18 AA players to register will play together on Court 1. Level is comparable to NAGVA A or higher and Yankee B- or higher.

SUNDAY | A
Rating: 70 or Higher / Yankee C+ or Higher
This session will strictly observe all USAV rules, and is geared towards advanced players. Currently, the first 18 A players to register will play together on Court2. Level is comparable to Yankee C+ or higher.

SUNDAY | B
Rating: 50 or Higher / Yankee C or Higher
This session will strictly observe all USAV rules. It is geared towards Intermediate players.

SUNDAY | C
Rating: 30 or Higher / Yankee C or Higher
This session will observe all USAV rules, including doubles, carry, lifts, line faults etc. Players are required to have prior working knowledge of 5-1 and 6-2 formations, and should be looking to improve their competitive play.

SUNDAY | D
Rating: No Minimum
This session is open to all players, including players new to the game. Line and net faults are enforced in this session, as well as other safety-related rules. Carries, lifts, and doubles are ignored. Typically a middle set formation is used.
